Senior Procurement Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for partnering and collaborating with staff to research, evaluate and procure goods ,services, supplies and equipment based on price, service, quality, and warranty to ensure compliance requirements are followed for food safety.
Ability to work independently while employing integrity and sound business decisions to solve problems and implement solutions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Issue purchase orders and follow up on deliveries by verifying accuracy and timely communication with suppliers and warehouse regarding the required documents.
- Conduct RFQs to ensure best vendor is partnered with.
- Source and procures materials, supplies, and services that support the Company’s goals and objectives by working and reviewing with assistant Procurement Manager and other cross functions on sourcing new items, equipment, and materials/ingredients for new product development, risk assessments, and cost savings projects.
- Record management: manage new vendor set-up, maintain vendor records on SAP, data entry for vendor evaluation, update raw material records. Maintains accurate records including price histories and supplier performance.
- Maintain annual Supplier Questionnaire and supporting documents to support external audits.
- Leased equipment: coordinate lease renewal, service repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Participates and collaborates with cross functional teams to achieve continuous improvement targets.
- Travel 25% trade show, conference and supplier visit to support internal audits.
- Perform other duties and projects as required or assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

A. EDUCATION, SKILLS, and EXPERIENCE
- This position requires a bachelor’s degree or minimum of 3-5 years of food manufacturing industry related experience and or/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint experience.
- Strong sourcing and negotiating skills, knowledge and/or experience in market outlook research, and strong analysis skills.
- Ideal candidate must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Good organization skills, high working ethics and good working attitudes are required.
- Skilled in project management, provide excellent customer service, and meet project deadlines.
B. LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Successful candidate must possess excellent communication and presentational skills both written and verbal and proven ability to work independently in cross-functional teams to achieve established goals.
- Bilingual in English & Chinese is preferred.
C. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to calculate and analyze figures and amounts such as rates, increases, percentages, variance, deductions, and adjustments.
- Ideal candidate must be able to apply mathematical concepts to reports.
