Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Media, Pennsylvania

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our educational team in Media, Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will provide high-quality speech and language services to students, working in collaboration with educators and parents to enhance student learning and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify speech and language disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet each student's unique needs.
  • Provide direct therapy to students with speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress and success.
  • Maintain detailed records of student assessments, progress, and therapy sessions.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development activities.
  • Offer consultation and training to school staff and parents regarding speech and language development and intervention strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Valid Pennsylvania state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education certification as an Educational Specialist Speech and Language Pathologist.
  • Experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required Licensure and Certifications:

  • Pennsylvania Speech-Language Pathologist License
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification as an Educational Specialist Speech and Language Pathologist
  • Passing scores on relevant Praxis exams (if mandated by the state)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform job duties that may include lifting, bending, sitting, and standing for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to manage the physical demands of working with young children and students with special needs.
