Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. This role is for a Significant Support Needs (SSN) Special Education Teacher to work in a supportive and collaborative educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instructional Duties:

    • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students.
    • Deliver effective instruction to students with significant support needs.
    • Create a structured and engaging learning environment for students.

  • Classroom Management:

    • Manage a classroom with 6 students and 3 paraeducators.
    • Provide leadership and support to paraeducators to ensure a positive and productive classroom environment.
    • Maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and growth.

  • Student Support:

    • Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instructional methods as needed.
    • Address the individual academic, behavioral, and emotional needs of students.
    • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and educational professionals to support student development.

  • Collaboration:

    • Work with school staff, parents, and guardians to support student success.
    • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational plans.
Requirements

  • Experience:

    • At least 2 years of experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably with a background in SSN or elementary special education.
    • Strong experience working with students who have significant support needs.

  • Licensure:

    • Valid Colorado Special Education Generalist license.

  • Skills:

    • Proven ability to develop and implement effective IEPs.
    • Strong classroom management and leadership skills.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
