Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Individualized Education: Develop and implement tailored IEPs to meet each student's unique needs.
- Innovative Instruction: Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with Common Core and Colorado state standards.
- Collaborative Consultation: Provide ongoing support and consultation to fellow staff members.
- Student Engagement: Utilize diverse teaching methods to foster student engagement and achievement.
- Effective Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and staff to ensure progress and address concerns.
- Positive Environment: Create a structured, fair classroom environment that promotes self-discipline, honesty, and success.
- Performance Improvement: Actively participate in Performance Quality Improvement initiatives to enhance educational outcomes.
What We're Looking For:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject (Math/Science, etc.)
- Licensing: Special Education Generalist license or eligibility for a Colorado Teaching License.
- Experience: Previous experience working with diverse student populations.
- Dedication: A passion for supporting students with disabilities and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Readiness: Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, physical exam, and possess a valid Colorado driver’s license.
Essential Functions:
- Lift/move up to 10-25 pounds
- Climb stairs
- Assist with physical management (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention)
Supervision:
- Supervised and evaluated by the Principal/Director of Special Education
