The Role

To ensure a safe working environment, while maintaining the highest level of customer service and achieving the Materials Department’s goal of 98% or higher inventory accuracy rate.

Responsibilities

Ensure scheduled satellite storeroom replenishments by, scheduling, planning, and organizing MRP generated replenishment pick deliveries. Work closely with Maintenance, Product Management/Development, and Quality Control to ensure a high level of internal/external customer satisfaction. Organize work process, methods, and quality control measures to monitor and enhance division and system performance along with its adherence to established operational procedures. Will assist our staff in creating, planning, and maintaining a safe working environment for all employees. Prepare and insure the accuracy of weekly and monthly documents for internal/external auditing. Assist in and maintaining bar coding the warehouses. Assist in and maintaining DOT compliance. Supervision of union staff with all daily tasks and training on all procedures and processes. Work with DataServ. Assisting accounting in resolving issues with receipts, invoices, returns in system for pricing changes. Account information for vendor payment. Work with all Material Handlers at all outside store rooms to ensure parts are issued and returned correctly and keeping the inventory correct with cycle gun counting, random counts and spot counts daily. Work with Material Handlers in the train facility store room and Cen facility store room to ensure all discreet jobs are pulled, staged and delivered to departments for rebuild or preparing parts for shipment. Assist Material Handlers with any new procedures or processes and retraining if needed. Work closely with Buyer/Planner group to ensure all parts on discreet jobs are pulled, issued and completed. Research all inventory discrepancies with all transactions and finding resolutions to correct the inventory. Keep a spreadsheet to date with all discreet jobs to ensure all are completed in a timely manner. Manage all Facilities to ensure coverage for all shifts. Prepare and approve the yearly vacation schedule for all employees. Maintain all time cards to ensure correct times are entered such as vacation, sick, work comp and regular scheduled hours. Work closely with absence management and HR with employee issues such as work comp, sick leave and FMLA. Work closely with management to resolve daily issues in a timely manner and development of employee training. Resolve issues with EAM and Oracle processes. Manage truck deliveries to all outside Facilities for replenishing of parts. Analyze inventory locations and make adjustments to locations to ensure optimum usage of warehouse space.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Considerable knowledge of materials management system, warehousing, MRP II, inventory control methods, and record processing. Must be knowledgeable in computer applications pertaining to materials management systems. Experienced in assimilating information, analyzing response alternatives and formulation of corrective actions in order to achieve desired results. Experienced in logistics and material shipping. Ability to operate an automobile. Must be able to communicate both oral and written. Experience in using customer skills. Must be capable of working in a union environment and able to create a positive and safe work environment.
