Job Summary

The Warehouse and Distribution Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment, maintaining high customer service levels, and achieving the Materials Department's goal of 98% or higher inventory accuracy rate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate satellite storeroom replenishments, scheduling, planning, and organizing MRP generated replenishment pick deliveries.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Product Management/Development, and Quality Control to ensure high internal/external customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement work processes, methods, and quality control measures to monitor and enhance division and system performance.
  • Assist staff in creating and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Prepare and ensure accuracy of weekly and monthly documents for internal/external auditing.
  • Assist in maintaining bar coding and DOT compliance.
  • Supervise union staff, providing daily tasks and training on procedures and processes.
  • Work with DataServ to resolve issues with receipts, invoices, returns, and vendor payment.
  • Coordinate with Material Handlers to ensure parts are issued and returned correctly, maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle gun counting, random counts, and spot counts.
  • Work with Material Handlers in train facility and Cen facility store rooms to ensure discreet jobs are pulled, staged, and delivered to departments.
  • Assist Material Handlers with new procedures and retraining as needed.
  • Collaborate with Buyer/Planner group to ensure all parts on discreet jobs are pulled, issued, and completed.
  • Research inventory discrepancies and find resolutions to correct inventory.
  • Maintain a spreadsheet with all discreet jobs to ensure timely completion.
  • Manage facilities to ensure coverage for all shifts.
  • Prepare and approve yearly vacation schedules for all employees.
  • Maintain accurate time cards, including vacation, sick, work comp, and regular scheduled hours.
  • Work with absence management and HR on employee issues such as work comp, sick leave, and FMLA.
  • Collaborate with management to resolve daily issues and develop employee training.
  • Resolve issues with EAM and Oracle processes.
  • Manage truck deliveries to outside facilities for replenishing parts.
  • Analyze inventory locations and make adjustments to optimize warehouse space usage.

Requirements

  • Considerable knowledge of materials management systems, warehousing, MRP II, inventory control methods, and record processing.
  • Proficiency in computer applications related to materials management systems.
  • Experience in assimilating information, analyzing response alternatives, and formulating corrective actions to achieve desired results.
  • Experience in logistics and material shipping.
  • Ability to operate an automobile.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience in using customer skills.
  • Ability to work in a union environment and create a positive and safe work environment.
