Our manufacturing client is seeking a skilled Process Engineer to join their process engineering team. In this role, you will oversee assigned areas related to best practices, KPI improvements, plan execution, and the industrialization of new technologies. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be integral in optimizing production processes and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve line layouts and implement modifications.
  • Share and evaluate best practices across sister locations.
  • Support manufacturing initiatives and collaborate with other sites.
  • Assist with new model activities and capital equipment projects.
  • Monitor and analyze production data and KPIs using the company’s SCADA system.
  • Identify and manage continuous improvement projects, overseeing 6-8 projects simultaneously.
  • Conduct biannual capability and capacity analyses for assigned areas.
  • Train associates on quality, production, and engineering procedures.
  • Conceptualize and design fixtures and gauges using 2D and 3D software.
  • Spend up to 50% of your time on the manufacturing floor focusing on engineering efforts.
  • Perform other engineering tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technologies, or Manufacturing Technologies.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar process engineering role.
  • Experience in engineering functions within manufacturing environments.
  • Proven track record in continuous improvement initiatives such as scrap reduction, efficiency improvement, and downtime elimination.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D modeling.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

  • Experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with capital equipment projects.
  • Exposure to Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with new model launches.
  • Strong data analysis skills.

Additional Information:

Local candidates in the Bellefontaine, Ohio area are preferred, but competitive relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
