Just Energy is seeking candidates for either a Lead Quantitative Analyst or Quantitative Analyst ‘hybrid’ position in our Houston, TX office. The candidate will be required to have an in-depth understating of the ISO protocols. Use the technical knowledge to proficiently build risk models in R or Python for the Risk Management team. Be able to effectively communicate with other teams for the data gathering requirements and present the results to the management.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Research ISO protocols, comprehension of trading activities. Translate the ISO requirements and business details into comprehensive reports
• Leverage predictive models to optimize collateral requirements
• Conduct market data analysis for building volatility models, scenario analysis and stress tests
• Design and build complex financial risk models for commodity risk management and liquidity risk management
• Automation of key reports in R/Python
• Lead key projects independently

Requirements:
• Strong business acumen, attention to detail, problem solving skills, and data-driven decision-making capabilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in R or Python and SQL
• Familiarity with software development practices
• Familiarity with related tools available in environments such as Azure DevOps and Power BI
• Good code practices such as logging, testing and documentation
• 3-5 years’ experience in a quantitative field

Education:
Degree in a quantitative field (academic and/or practical exposure to topics such as Linear Algebra, Optimization, Statistics).
