Application Developer

Position Summary

The Finance Business Application Support (FBAS) team is responsible for the operational support to the mission-critical Kuali Financial System (KFS) , Kuali Materials Management System (KMM), Organization of Interest (OOI), Spartan Marketplace (KBA), Concur Travel Connector (CTC), Payroll Encumbrance Transaction System (PETS) from MSU Information Technology (MSU IT).

Reporting to the Finance Business Application Support (FBAS) Manager, the Application Developer will primarily perform the following duties: 

Meet with customers and business stakeholders, relevant IT teams, external vendors to determine technology status, functional desires, system functions and restriction; Analyze business functions and results of supported finance and procurement systems; Provide maintenance services including corrective maintenance, adaptive maintenance, preventive maintenance and perfective maintenance; Design, develop and implement business functionality, end-to-end business solution and system enhancement; Monitor and support applications for daily operations, batch processes and the fiscal year end processes; Perform technical unit testing and coordinate integration testing and end-to-end testing; Resolve technical issues through debugging, researching, and investigating; Document technical specifications for systems, interfaces, and services.

Minimum Requirements

knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related information technology field, ;one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Desired Qualifications

One to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience of software development using J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Data, Spring Batch, Struts, ORM, RDBMS, SQL, ReactJS, Web Services or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Good analytical, communication and team-working skills.
