The Leung School of Accounting Program Manager will provide executive, logistical, and administrative assistance to the Leung School of Accounting graduate and undergraduate programs, providing service for the faculty, alumni, students, and the development of the professional programs for the graduate and undergraduate accounting students, along with promotion and outreach to CPA firms, corporate, government and nonprofit entities. Manages and maintains donor relations and prepares reports to keep donors updated on endowment funds and their expenditures. Oversees the operations of the Leung School of Accounting and assists in the formulation of strategic vision, crafting tactical goals and objectives to aid the vision. In addition, the Program Manager is responsible for developing and implementing current and new strategies and experiences to enhance the engagement and brand experience of the Leung School of Accounting for current and prospective students, firm partners, and alumni. This role plays a crucial part in shaping the School’s reputation, fostering loyalty, and legacy, and creating memorable interactions across various touchpoints.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communication, or related field (emphasis in business-related/Accounting field preferred). Master’s degree is a plus.

Required Experience

Three to five years experience in program administration, event planning or related experience. Familiarity with student recruiting, placement, and academic programs. Demonstrated experience in brand building and management, marketing, or a related role, with a track record of successful engagement initiatives. Ability to plan and implement signature events and experiences from inception to completion. Successful track record of building relationships with key stakeholders (e.g. Senior Industry Executives, university students, alumni, donors, community members, university partners, and colleagues). Proven project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Primary Duties/Essential Functions

Direct, develop, and promote relations between the LP and Timothy Leung School of Accounting (LSA) and CPA firms, corporations, government and nonprofit entities, and high schools/junior colleges. Oversees the high school outreach marketing initiative for both the LSA and SBM. Formulates a spreadsheet for data collection on high schools in nearby counties.Fosters relationship with counselors and principals to build partnerships with the high schools and explore ways in how to collaborate.Creates a call campaign to formulate touch points with representatives/contacts.Develops and manages an event for counselors.Keeps track and schedules outreach events such as college fairs, high school fairs, and high school visits. Develops and directs programs and experiences for student development, including CPA firm internships and career placement, professional preparation, speaker’s series, recruiting events and other career services activities to prospective undergraduate and graduate students. Plan, coordinate and orchestrate the Annual “Meet the Firms” event in September of each year.Plan, coordinate and orchestrate the inaugural Wall Street Internship program.In collaboration with the Chair and Dean, coordinate and host the LSA Distinguished Lecturer/Fellow/Executive in Residence.Create and maintain internship contacts with CPA firms.Host CPA firms on campus.Maintain database of inquiries and prospects and backup data regularly.Assist the LSA Chair and SBM Dean with developing ways to enhance the reputation and connection of the Accounting School with CPA firms and other entities that hire accounting graduates. Coordinate and manage the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program (January - April each year). Recruit and manage student VITA coordinator. Guide and manage the creation and distribution of LSA Asset magazine, and podcast.. Coordinate and manage the creation of marketing materials and campaigns within the LSA (adhering to university brand standards. Included but not limited to: videos, social media, email blasts, flyers, etc. Oversight of budget and endowment funds in collaboration with the School of Business and Management Dean. Cultivate relationships with current LSA students and alum including tracking internships and placements of students. Collaborate with LSA faculty and School of Business (SBM) faculty and staff to support larger SBM initiatives and experiences. Manages and tracks the Leung Scholarship awards and works with financial aid to award students with the respective scholarship amounts. Acts as a member of the scholarship committee to oversee the scholarship process and any changes to be implemented. In collaboration with the SBM Dean, formulates reports to the donor of LSA including semi-annual reports, endowment reports, projected vision/goals, and general updates. Maintains and fosters a relationship with the donor. Directs LSA student organization’s and mentors student leaders. Acts as the staff advisor for the Accounting Honors Society, and manages and oversees the events, activities, and recruitment of the organization In collaboration with other SBM Program Managers, responsible for the recruitment, training, and supervision of student workers and staff to support the administrative workload of the School. Oversee academic advising: Primary responsibility for academic advising of undergraduate accounting students and graduate MAcc students, evaluating transcripts, determining course equivalents admission requirements, including GPA, GMAT, and TOEFL. Creates course plans/academic maps.Attends Same Day Admissions Event.Coordinate academic advising appointments and events.Oversees the Masters of Professional Accountancy graduate program from recruitment, enrollment, registration, and advising. Evaluate graduate student files and related transcripts for accuracy. Determine if graduate students have met the requirements for graduation. Assist students with forms, including internship, senior electing MAcc courses, and Intent to Graduate forms. Performs other duties related to job description as directed by the Chair of the LSA and the Dean and Associate Dean of the School of Business.

Interface effectively with faculty, staff, students and the Professional Accountancy Community including C-level executives in agreement with the purpose and mission of Azusa Pacific University in providing a Christian based higher education for its students.

Physical Demands

Intermittent sitting and standing. Travel to local firms and schools will be required. Must have reliable transportation. Extensive telephone usage. Ability to lift, pull, grasp, bend, and reach. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

Visual Demands

Computer monitor and reading. Driving. Designing and selecting brand materials.

Environment

Pleasant office, comfortable temperatures. Multiple conversations and transactions occurring simultaneously. Saturday and evening work will be required on occasion.

Technologies

Proficient in Google Apps., Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel. Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Video Editing, Canva, and other design software a plus.

Compensation

Grade 10: $25.94 to $29.83 is the hourly compensation for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
