Calling on Learning Behavior Specialist (Special Education Teachers) based in the northern suburbs of Chicago Soliant is working with a private Special Education provider in Mt Prospect, IL and is seeking contract teachers for this school year.
Requirements:
- Active Professional Educators License (PEL) in Special Education
Applicants will be working in self-contained classrooms, and have the flexibility of working with the age group of their choice.
Responsibilities include:
- Working to understand student, based on parental feedback, staff consultations, and prior records
- Administering diagnostic tests
- Consolidating testing information, observations, and determining student's strengths, weaknesses, and potential
- Developing short-term and long-term goals, as part of an Individual Education Plan
- Presenting students' present levels, and their IEP goals, to staff and parents
- Developing classroom activities, implementing lesson plans, and presenting periodic progress reports
- Collaborating with classroom aides to foster a safe learning environment
- Maintaining record of student activities
- Consulting with parents, and making adjustments to classroom activities as needed
