Field Medical Science Liaison

The function of the Field Medical Science Liaison (FMSL) is fundamental to both execution of Clinical Development programs and building appropriate connections to the external medical community, communicating scientific/clinical information, and collecting impactful insights to enhance strategic objectives.

The Field Medical Science Liaison will support Medical Affairs objectives for our client’s portfolio. The FMSL will collaborate with Medical Affairs to identify and engage opinion leaders within the medical community to communicate non-promotional scientific and medical information regarding disease state and/or pipeline products. On occasion, the FMSL may engage with investigators and/or clinical trial sites to conduct scientific exchange, assess investigator’s interest in participating in a clinical trial or understand an investigators study proposal for an IIT (Investigators Initiated Trial).

Scientific Expertise:  Develop deep scientific expertise in the assigned therapeutic area (s), subject matter expert in the therapeutic areas in assigned region. Consistently demonstrate scientifically credible leadership and collaborative partner.

Opinion Leader Engagement:  Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with opinion leaders, clinical investigators, and their respective study staff within assigned region 

Cross-Functional Support: Provide scientific support to Medical Affairs, Commercial and other cross-functional colleagues to ensure the successful execution of key corporate strategies. Support activities, including but not limited to scientific congresses, advisory boards, speaker programs. 

Commercial Collaboration:  Respond to unsolicited HCP requests for information that arise through the client’s Commercial organization. This may include appropriate/compliant planning activities between FMSLs and the commercial sales representatives.

Compliance:   Operate in a highly ethical manner and comply with all laws, regulations, and policies.

Education-Requirements-Skills 

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from and accredited university or college with a medical credential or an advanced degree with a medical credential is required (RN, MSN, NP, PA) Terminal degree Ph. D, Pharm D, DNP, M.D. a plus. Biotech experience a plus  Pharmaceutical experience as an MSL or MSL type role a plus Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to present medical/scientific information in a clear and concise manner is required Adept at developing relationships and building networks needed  Excellent organizational skills and results oriented mindset required Ability to function well, both independently and within a team setting, in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Relevant therapeutic area knowledge preferred Permanent residence within region assigned required  Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, and technical meeting platforms required. Able to travel up to ~50-70% of time required Proof of Covid Vaccine at the time of hire required Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record required
