Central Sterile Processing Technician 1

Schedule: Evening Shift 3:00pm to 11:30pm Monday to Friday. Rotating Weekends

Summary:

Under the guidance of the CSPS Clinical Operations Supervisor, the Central Sterile Processing Technician 1 performs core Sterile Processing functions and develops skills necessary for independent work. Responsibilities include instrument and equipment decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilization, high-level disinfection, documentation, and inventory management.

Responsibilities:

Perform instrument and equipment decontamination and cleaning. Assemble and package instruments and equipment following guidelines. Sterilize and perform high-level disinfection of instruments and equipment. Document all processes and maintain work area cleanliness. Manage inventory and accurately build case carts for surgical procedures. Communicate with leadership regarding supply requests and schedule changes. Maintain proficiency in computer programs and instrument tracking software. Demonstrate multitasking ability and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Experience in a Sterile Processing Department preferred. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and perform physical tasks as required.

Skills & Competencies Required:

Excellent organization, operations, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in medical terminology and computer programs. Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively.
