We are currently hiring for a Development Director in Southfield. The primary responsibility will be to oversee corporate fundraising, volunteer recruitment and management, and event management for our Heart of Detroit campaign which includes our signature Heart Ball (gala) event. The Director will also promote and support our Heart Challenge and Go Red For Women campaigns.

This is a fast paced sales type of position with the main accountability of driving revenue and offers a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

Prospect and secure local corporate sponsorships, individual donations, and auction items.

Identify, recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership including implementing a year-round cultivation plan.

Develop profiles on the top businesses within the Detroit market with a documented plan to secure their involvement.

Execute event logistics based on national best practices.

Work closely with a Communications Director to develop and manage a promotion/communications plan for the campaign.

Qualifications

3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience

Ability to do daily local travel up to 75%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis

Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving

Must have at least basic knowledge and skill/proficiency with Microsoft Office

University/College degree or equivalent experience, preferred

Experience managing and cultivating high-level leaders at the C-Suite level

Knowledge of corporate and community networks
