Head Start Education Specialist
Reports to: Head Start: Prenatal to Three Director

Job Description: EdAdvance is seeking a qualified applicant responsible for the training and supervision of teaching staff on program curricula, assessment tools and educational policies and procedures.
Major Responsibilities: Plan, implement, implement, monitor, and evaluate education services to ensure compliance with the Head Start Performance Standards. Conduct program-wide semi-annual classroom observations/assessments (CLASS, Creative Curriculum to Fidelity). Develop, coordinate and provide staff development, training, and technical assistance. Work with program managers to develop and implement strategic plans, Supervise and evaluate the performances of assigned staff: interview and select employees and recommend transfers, schedule and assign wrk. Coaching of new and designated staff when needed to assure understanding and utilization of program curricula, policies and procedures. Initiate program policy and procedure updates to meet the ever-changing landscape of Head Start: Prenatal to Five and the communities served. Regional travel to all Head Start locations is required. Other duties may be assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to develop effective relationships. Excellent interpersonal skills with children, families, and co-workers. Qualifications/Requirements: Baccalaureate or advanced degree in Early Childhood or a related field with a minimum of five years experience working with children in an early childhood program, Head start preferred. Experience working with children with disabilities and/or have experienced trauma. Computer literacy. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong interpersonal communication, both written and verbal. Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this job. Physical Requirements: Position self to bend and lift up to 30lbs.
