If so, our Inventory Specialist position at Plato’s Closet might be the perfect opportunity for you

At Plato’s Closet, we specialize in buying and selling clothing for teens and young adults. Throughout the day, customers bring in items for us to purchase. Once we buy these items, a lot of behind-the-scenes work is needed to prepare them for sale, and our Inventory Specialists play a crucial role in processing the inventory.

As an Inventory Specialist, your main responsibility will be to ensure the clothing we purchase is quickly priced, organized, and placed on the sales floor for customers to shop. We value initiative and efficiency, so this role is ideal for someone who thrives with autonomy and can manage their tasks without micromanagement. This is an active position—you’ll be on your feet throughout the day, continuously moving inventory from the back room to the sales floor.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper inventory systems are being followed
  • Quickly tag clothing after its purchased
  • Quickly organize and get clothing out to the sales floor for customers to browse
  • Backstock/clearance clothing that didn't sell
  • Help coordinate and execute floorset swaps (such as changing from our Fall/Winter floorset to our Spring floorset)
  • Monitor inventory levels and make recommendations for replenishment and sales

Requirements:

  • Ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to complete complex tasks with minimal direction
  • Ability to think on your feet and make good judgment calls
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient in using computers and following training material
