We are seeking a highly skilled and certified (CWI) to oversee quality assurance and control in our structural steel fabrication shop. The ideal candidate will ensure all products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Assurance and Control:

    • Oversee the quality assurance and control processes in the fabrication shop.
    • Conduct inspections and tests on structural steel products to ensure they meet project specifications and industry standards.
    • Maintain compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.

  2. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Prepare and maintain detailed reports on quality inspections, test results, and non-conformance issues.
    • Document all quality-related activities and maintain accurate records for audit purposes.

  3. Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify areas for improvement in quality processes and implement corrective actions.
    • Develop and update quality control procedures and standards as needed.
    • Provide training to shop personnel on quality control procedures and best practices.

  4. Collaboration:

    • Work closely with the production team to resolve any quality issues promptly.
    • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure quality standards are met throughout the fabrication process.
    • Communicate with clients regarding quality concerns and resolutions.

Requirements:

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within the structural steel fabrication industry.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and codes (e.g., AWS, AISC).
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
