As a Refugee Employment Program Supervisor, you will be primarily responsible for supervising the direct service staff, while also managing the operational aspects of the Refugee Employment Program in accordance with professional standards, state licensing requirements, local board directives and company expectations. Responsible for ensuring quality services, smooth operations, and growth of the program. Works closely with the Program Director to ensure that the terms of the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) contract and standards of the Office of Refugee Resettlement are met in full.

This position is expected to function effectively with moderate supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Promote effective operations through hiring, training, and orientation of new hires; Conduct team supervision meetings with all direct reports in the program and interns on a regular basis; Build and sustain a cohesive team while cultivating a positive employee morale; Ensure agency policies and procedures are enforced through employee performance evaluations, conference request, time sheets, and reimbursement vouchers; Manage employee vacation scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for program service needs; Oversee and assess the program to ensure it achieves and exceeds the required employment percentages; Review client records and reports to ensure quality services are rendered for treatment planning, and worker follow-through on services with consistent implementation of best practices that are person-centered and culturally sensitive; Provide after business hours and emergency coverage, supervision, and consultation to workers to address emergency client situations, as needed; Acts as the lead on recruiting, developing, nurturing, and maintaining positive working relationships with businesses and companies that employee refugees; Participate on local task forces, multi-agency planning groups and/or other multi-agency planning groups to help coordinate a unified network of culturally sensitive services for refugees;  Provide case coverage for program cases when adequate coverage is not available to sustain quality services, when needed; Oversee and occasionally participate in the project's employment and language training activities to ensure quality and familiarity with training activities; Maintain positive working relationships with the program's collaborative relationships with the community providers of language, employment support, medical, legal, social services, and other services, as well as linkages with ethnic community organizations who support refugees and immigrants; Facilitate presentations about Bethany's Refugee Employment program to church groups businesses, and similar entities;  Assist the Program Director in assessing, adjusting, and reporting on program development;  Assist the Program Director in providing leadership in service expansion opportunities; Participate in and lead project teams, chair, act as liaison, and assure that project teams function efficiently and effectively;  Stay up to date on current industry trends and theories while recommending changes in agency policies and practices when appropriate; Attend training as needed and apply newly gained knowledge in providing service; Complete other duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Human Services or equivalent field of study from an accredited college, Master's level degree preferred; At least 4 years of experience in child welfare; At least 2 years of experience managing others with strong leadership and program development skills; Demonstrated knowledge of refugee, immigrant, and asylees services, a plus;  Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Work well under pressure and adaptable to change;  Computer skillssufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of MicrosoftOffice suite;  Must be 21 years old with a valid driver’slicense with at least 3 years driving experience in the to operate avehicle on behalf of Bethany. Must also pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR)check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurancecoverage; Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries; Possess the relevant experience and/or qualifications to work with clientele; Be properly trained and licensed, as necessary.
