This position is eligible for a $10, (minus tax) sign on bonus that is paid out incrementally.

Summary :

The Registered Nurse II is a fully competent practitioner of nursing. The incumbent is responsible for the practice of nursing according to the Rules and Regulations defined in the State of Maine Nurse Practice Act Northern Light Health Standards of Care/Practice, policies and procedures. The Registered Nurse II is responsible for the delivery of patient care to assigned patients on a Nursing Unit, and for the supervision of other qualified staff to whom the Registered Nurse II has delegated patient care in the exercise of his/her independent judgment. The nurse plans and evaluates the nursing care for patients and families and exercises independent judgment in implementing the care him/herself or assigning the care to other qualified staff. The nurse addresses physical, spiritual, emotional and educational needs of the patient, and coordinates the plan of care with other healthcare professionals. The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job.

Clinical AssessmentsoPerforms and documents comprehensive and holistic assessments.oInterprets and responds to abnormal diagnostic data. Anticipates potential emergency situations and intervenes safely with assistance if needed. Caring & Code of ConductoDevelops a relationship with the patient/family that facilitates mutual involvement in the planning of care.oTreats patients with courtesy and respect.oSeeks resources for reconciling ones own personal issues and biases. Critical ThinkingoDemonstrates basic critical thinking skills. DocumentationoDocumentation is concise, accurate, and complete reflecting adherence to hospital, regulatory and legal requirements. Population Specific CompetencyoCompletes population-specific mandatory education competencies as defined by the unit specific scope of service.oIdentifies age, cultural, or other population specific patient needs based on assessment findings.oWorks collaboratively with patients and families of diverse backgrounds to develop plan of care.oIs tolerant of differences posed by patients and families while cognizant of personal biases. Professional DevelopmentoTakes responsibility for meeting education and mandatory programs, by completing hospital and unit-based competencies (CBO).oObtains 12 Contact Hours or a 3-credit professional development course and 6 contact hours or as specified by individual member organization. oSeeks opportunities to promote and advance professional growth.oServes on and/or contributes to the work of unit-based practice council.oSeeks evidence in nursing literature to identify/support best practice. oMaintains an up-to-date personal educational file on unit to demonstrate compliance with educational requirements. oActively participates in the peer review process. Performance ImprovementoDemonstrates knowledge of and contributes positively to unit-based performance improvement outcomes.oIdentifies potential safety issues to unit manager and/or unit-based practice council.

Other Information :

Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine BSN Preferred BLS certification is required Additional education and experience may be required.
