Job Summary

The Supply Chain Inventory Control Manager is responsible for the oversight of direct inventory for the company. They are responsible for leading the company's physical inventories and cycle count programs across all internal and external facilities including manufacturing plants, warehouses, vendors, and subcontractors. They will collaborate with logistics, procurement, manufacturing, and finance to ensure proper controls are in place to mitigate financial risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing the cycle count program for distribution centers and manufacturing facilities in the Benjamin Moore Network. This includes the generation and maintenance of cycle count calendars which will be created from ABC SKU level settings defined by sales volume.
  • Generate monthly reporting for on-time & accuracy metrics for the cycle count program. Reports will be distributed to the facility managers and inventory specialists.
  • Communicate Rolling 12-month inventory accuracy metrics to the operations, planning and financial teams.
  • Organize the Spring and Fall full physical inventories. Facilitate timing and monitor activity during the events. Provide accuracy results to leadership team and generate a final summary of the event.
  • Drive improvement at the sites by identifying process gaps and use Pareto analysis to identify and track problematic materials
  • Perform inventory reconciliation to ensure raw materials are back flushed according to the Bill of Materials.
  • Periodically review Bill of Materials for tolled resin to ensure alignment with supply chain and product development.
  • Redesign cycle count program with third party vendors that house company owned inventory.
  • Provide assistance as needed with large projects or company initiatives that relate to inventory management. Examples: SAP-related projects, facility changes in the network, inventory optimization across distribution centers.
  • Aid in the implementation of SAP Extended Warehouse Management system at the distribution sites, promote change management and integration with the cycle count program.
  • Review large inventory adjustments across the network and provide exception reporting to the finance & accounting teams.
  • Standardize categorization around scrap/disposal transactions, providing visibility and ensuring all transactions are allocated to the correct GL account.
  • Track and execute the shipment of finished goods to the aftermarket
  • Facilitate item stocking strategies and optimize FG inventory in the network
  • Manage inventory reconciliation reports to ensure SAP and WMS are in synch
  • Responsible for defining and reporting on key performance indicators and communicating to executive leadership
  • Calculate and apply ABC classification on all active finished goods on a quarterly basis based on annual sales volume
  • Develop improved processes and tools as necessary that incorporate inventory management best practices, SOPS, and help drive policy and reporting standardization across all sites.
  • Provide excellent service to all internal and external partners and cultivate customer centricity
  • Up to 25% travel
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Finance/Accounting, Business, or relevant field
  • 8+ years of analytical & inventory control experience within a supply chain, logistics, operations, or manufacturing environment
  • Experience using advanced MRP system required
  • Experience working with SAP preferred
  • Experience leading a team of direct reports
  • Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and deductive reasoning skills necessary
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks is required
  • Strong computer skills including advanced Excel, MS Office, Business Objects, AS/400 and other database and web applications
