Who We're Looking For:

EmpiRx Health is in unprecedented growth, and we're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Controller. In this critical role, you will ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all processes, and ensure compliance with GAAP and tax regulations.

What You'll Do:
As an Assistant Controller, your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities; here are a few:
  • Manage a team of 5+ professionals.
  • Drive the month-end financial close process.
  • Lead the partnership with external audit and tax teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of year-end audit and required tax filings. As we expand EmpiRx’s scale, thought leadership in ensuring we meet state, local and federal requirements will be a critical competency.
  • Maintain proficiency with GAAP and research standards applicable to our organization. 
  • Modernize our accounting policies as new systems, processes and scale are added to the organization.
  • Ensure proper calculation of member distributions and timely payments.
  • Oversee and review the processing of payroll and all required schedules and entries; assist with various employee-sensitive tasks and projects.
  • Support other members of the Finance Team with budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist with the management of cash flow and liquidity.
  • Ensure adequate levels of insurance are maintained, and work with Broker on renewals.
  • Drive transformational projects to enhance the scale and efficacy of the Finance & Accounting department (including assisting with the implementation of a new ERP system.)
  • Support M&A activities by integrating acquisitions and streamlining processes

What You Need:
  • At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3 years of experience in a Public Accounting Firm (combination of audit and tax strongly preferred).
  • Ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Ability to transform processes as the company’s systems environment and scale changes.
  • Ability to draft audited financials, including all disclosures, in compliance with GAAP.
  • Excellent financial analytical skills combined with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with multiple internal departments and senior leadership.
  • Ability to multi-task and work to meet deadlines; adapt and be flexible in a complex changing environment.
  • Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgement, discretion and decision making to achieve organizational objectives; an ability to problem solve and facilitate solutions with limited direction.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA, highly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
Role is 100% remote, anyone local to the Montvale NJ office can work hybrid schedule
