Responsibilities

Here’s what to expect as a Coordinator:

Plan instruction & group activities that focus on developing functional, communication and social/recreational skills. Develop weekly schedules for staff and individuals with an emphasis on individual skill development, personal interests, and community interaction. Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individual Program Plans. Provide information and assist individuals in self-advocacy and decision-making regarding living, work, and social relationships. Help the individuals in identifying their needs for community supports, and work to initiate community connections. Research, develop, and maintain community information, and other resources relevant to the needs of the individuals.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements as a Coordinator:

6 Months of previous Direct Support Professional (DSP) or Direct Care Worker Experience A valid driver’s license and 6 months driving experience Access to a vehicle with valid insurance, registration, and inspection 18 years of age Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand the English language

Preferred, but not required:

Associates Degree, or technical certification preferred 2 Years or more of previous Direct Support Professional (DSP), or Direct Care Worker experience
