This position requires prioritizing care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, and developing individualized plans of care for assigned patients.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Patient Assessment and Care:
    • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients based on their problems or needs, medical diagnoses, and functional health framework.
    • Identify patient needs and determine care priorities.
    • Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized care plans for patients.
  • Nursing Interventions:
    • Perform therapeutic nursing interventions as needed.
    • Manage the care of patients, ensuring all care is provided based on standards of practice.
    • Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support the adoption of innovations in care delivery.
  • Documentation:
    • Document care activities accurately and in a timely manner based on patient acuity and clinical priorities.
  • Professional Practice:
    • Provide patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.
    • Continuously update nursing skills and knowledge through education and training.
  • Other Duties:
    • Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
Skills and Experience:
  • Required:
    • Minimum of 2 years prior RN experience working in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit in a major acute care hospital setting.
    • Strong background in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience in accessing glucose levels.
Education:
  • Required:
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
  • Preferred:
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Certifications & Licensure:
  • Required:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
    • New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or a multi-state compact license.
  • Preferred:
    • No additional preferred certifications or licensure.
Languages:
  • Required:
    • Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
