Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg/Tele

Job Summary: The Registered Nurse in the Med Surg/Tele unit is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians in delivering patient care. The role includes planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care tailored to the patient’s needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient needs and determine care priorities through comprehensive assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized care plans based on initial and ongoing assessments.
  • Initiate assessments based on patient problems, physician’s medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
  • Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care.
  • Document care according to standards of care, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
  • Advocate for evidence-based practice standards and support the adoption of innovative care delivery practices.
  • Deliver patient-centered care in alignment with professional nursing practice models.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a Med Surg/Tele unit within a major acute care hospital.
  • Strong background in Med Surg/Tele, particularly in a Neuro Step Down Unit.

Education:

  • Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Certifications & Licensure:

  • Required:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association.
    • NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.

Languages:

  • English (Speak, Read, Write)

Location: Neptune, NJ 07754

Hours Per Week: 36.00
Hours Per Day: 12.00
Days Per Week: 3.00

Schedule Notes:

  • Neuro Step Down Unit
  • Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
  • Every other weekend required
  • 3 out of 6 holidays required
  • No on-call requirement
  • Floating to other units as needed
