Lab Support Technician

The Opportunity:
In this role, you will report to the Area Operations Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
Location: South San Francisco, CA
Shift: Day
Hourly Rate: $26.44/hr. - $29.80/hr.

What we’re looking for
Education: High school diploma or GED (or equivalent work experience) is required
Experience : 1-2 years equivalent experience in a laboratory setting and understanding of laboratory equipment and/or college degree
Excellent solid understanding of laboratory operations
Knowledgeable of biological and/or chemical processes
Excellent time management, communication, and organization skills
Knowledge of sterile handling techniques a plus
Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.
In this role you will:
Provide direct benchtop services support at customer facilities under close supervision.
Execute routine laboratory support procedures and preparations including media and buffer preparation, solvent and reagent mixtures, filtrations, material weighing, and some physical testing.
Witness experiments conducted by senior staff members.
Maintain laboratory inventory and labeling, ensuring accurate documentation of chemical reagents, glassware, and gas cylinder levels.
Verify and perform maintenance on laboratory equipment such as balances, pH meters, sonicators, and glassware washers to uphold operational standards.
