Overnight Warehouse Manager

Role Overview: Responsible for all activity in the Distribution Center area including drivers, picker/packer, packer/loaders, porters, kitchen and delivery trucks.
Responsibilities:
Greet all incoming guest/ employees to the Distribution Center and make sure they are adhering to Citarella’s Safety policies. Double check the crates/box counts for store orders being sent out from all the warehouse departments. Prepare truck paperwork /fill manifest for each driver/location. Dispatch all trucks to correct store locations. Operate forklift and electric pallet jacks in a safe manner and ensure proper procedures are followed. Announce all visitors and ensure proper parties are notified. Responsible for bag checks/coat checks of any employees leaving the facility. Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and following dress code standards. In addition, other duties/projects/assignments as directed by management. Perform inspections of vehicles prior to and following each trip. Consolidate merchandise and dispatch trucks to the stores. Driver safety and accountability. Ensure all merchandise goes to the correct location. Truck Log maintenance. Employee bag checks in and out. Complete and post schedules for Loading Dock, manage departments payroll. Maintenance of delivery trucks. Training of all new hires. Ability to physically perform requirements of position such as: standing, sitting, reaching, lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, pushing, and pulling items weighing 20-75 pounds for extended periods of time. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays. Ability to read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions, conduct business related mathematics and analyze data as required. Effective interpersonal & communication skills, and able to work in a team environment. Coach, mentor and address any Human resource related issues. Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual goals and action plans. Support all departments when necessary. Upkeep Distribution Center to Health and Safety standards and cleanliness. Coordinate with drivers, staff, and management to hold meetings and resolve issues. Wrap pallets and pack them into your truck for delivery to the assigned location. Confirm that contents of each shipment load match the manifest document. Ensure contents are properly secured in a truck flatbed to prevent damage/injuries. Ensure refrigeration and proper temperatures are maintained in the trucks. Ensure to secure truck using the truck seal and log accordingly. Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip. Notify management of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered.Minimum requirements:
1-3 years’ experience driving 26-28 FT box trucks or any other commercial motor vehicle over 10,001 pounds (about 4536.37 kg). (Required) 2+ years supervisory/management experience. (Required) Previous warehouse experience (Preferred) Valid driver's license and relative endorsement for New York State. No restrictions. (Required) Willing to submit to drug screens, background checks, and maintain a valid DOT medical examiners card. (Required) No recent moving or driving violations. Effective interpersonal & communication skills, and able to work in a team environment. Solid knowledge of the transportation industry and coordination. Experience working with union contracts and transportation-related government regulations. Critical thinking skills and knowledge of analytics. Excellent leadership skills. Good conflict resolution skills. Excel and word proficiency Ability to work within various temperature-controlled environments.
