Job Summary: We are looking for a dedicated Direct Care Staff /Registered Medication Assistant who demonstrates a caring approach to the residents that have been entrusted to PineCrest Assisted Living Facility. A Direct Care Staff / Registered Medication Assistant must provide the highest degree of quality care & services by assisting residents with their basic needs and by administering medication and treatments in a safe, organized manner.   

Responsibilities:  
  • Provide care to residents and assist with any daily living needs such as bathing & shaving 
  • Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers  
  • Conduct inventory on Med carts, check E-MAR to confirm residents received medication 
  • Check-in pharmacy deliveries  
  • Secure all controlled medications after they have been counted & appropriately documented in the Control Book 
  • Check both Med carts daily to reorder medications and to appropriately dispose of outdated medications 
  • Assist with medical emergencies (protocols)  
  • Knowledge of Facility Policy & Procedures 
  • Monitor the physical, mental, and emotional conditions of residents and report changes to designated parties 
  • Make doctor appointments & cancel appointments if needed 
  • Arrange or provide transportation to appointments 
  • Prepare paperwork for next-day appointments  
  • Notify residents of mealtimes, “med pass,” activities times, upcoming appointments, etc. 
  • Assist Dietary & Environmental Services Department, as needed  
  • Communicate at shift change any important information to the oncoming RMA, count controlled pills together, and entrust key to oncoming RMA 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment  
QUALIFICATIONS:
  •  A high school diploma
  • Experience and training as a direct care staff or in a similar capacity is preferred
  • A Valid Driver's License
