The Office of Research Support Services (ORSS) provides comprehensive contract and grants management support including proposal development, post award management, reporting and metrics. As an arm of ORSP, ORSS is designed to be the principal faculty-facing research administration management unit for Lehigh research. ORSS serves as the interface between central services such as the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and academic departments. 

The Manager of Research Support Services is responsible for leading the operations of the Office of Research Support services in the delivery and effectiveness of pre- and post-award management services and processes. Ensures high levels of service satisfaction and leverages metrics to ensure continuous improvement within the department. Ensures collaboration and partnerships with departments, colleges, centers, ORSP and OVPR offices to leverage and strengthen the responsibilities between faculty, departments and central administration. This position is funded by soft dollars; there is no severance associated with this position

This position has fiscal or financial responsibilities other than employee expense activity, such as processing or approving transactions; monitoring or preparing budgets; or generating income for University

The duties of this position may allow the employee to work partially remote as deemed appropriate by their supervisor 

Qualifications

•Bachelor's Degree in a related field 

•Three to five years of related work experience

•Current Certified Research Administrator Certification (CRA)

•Highly developed oral and written communications skills

•Demonstrated knowledge of university policies and procedures, federal regulations relating to sponsored research

•Experience in proposal development, monitoring contract or grant budgets and financial analysis

Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
