Under the direction of the UCMC Executive Director of the Neuroscience Service Line, the Assistant Director will assist in the development of and execution of strategy for Neuro-Diagnostics and Teleservices. In addition, he/she will support activities related to strategic operations, financial outcomes, patient experience, and clinical outcomes across the UCM Health System. Works with Managers/Directors within the service line in regards to planning, revenue cycle enhancement, LEAN process design and improvement, workflow and logistical analysis, cost reduction and control, and capital and operational budgeting. Works collaboratively with all leaders, physicians, and staff to promote customer service, patient safety, and satisfaction, departmental communication, process improvement, resource utilization and reimbursement. Works with physicians to understand economic considerations and to increase physician/hospital alignment. The Assistant Director will also have clinical oversight of neuro-procedure areas and productivity.
Essential Job Functions:
Develops, implements and monitors improvements to internal departmental operations including scheduling, supply utilization, labor utilization, patient flow, and ancillary department support. Assures compliance with regulatory bodies. Identifies benchmarked operating standards where efficiencies can be obtained, studies, and implements such operational changes. Influences external departments to implement workflow changes that result in service improvements and cost reductions. Develops, interprets, and achieves departmental goals through active participation in committee work and task force assignments as needed. Identifies issues, presents strategies, and acts as a change agent. Works with Executive Director to identify new growth opportunities across UCMCs key catchment areas. Conducts outreach, develops and maintains external relationships, assists with contracting, business planning, development of pro-formas, operationalizing and tracking success of the relationships. Also explores opportunities for broader Neuroscience growth within existing partnerships Works with the Executive Director in budgeting and fiscal planning for Neuroscience and associated areas of responsibility. Plans for capital acquisition and facility planning, participates in economic payback assessments and supports operational efficacy evaluation. Develops, implements, and monitors budget within established guidelines. Establishes and monitors labor productivity indicators and metrics. Ensures accuracy of financial and other program data. Develops, maintains and presents regular reports to monitor budgets and growth targets to Neuroscience leadership.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare administration required Minimum 4-6 years’ experience with healthcare management with specific experience in dealing with fiscal oversight and operations required Experience managing neuro diagnostics suits and clinics Strong knowledge of expense reduction strategies, financial performance measurement, forecasting, and budgeting Knowledge of capital acquisition process and skilled in decision making for strategic investments & ROI analysis Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated leadership qualities, and record of related accomplishments Able to navigate effectively with high-level internal and external contactsPreferred Qualifications:
Masters degree preferred Academic medical center experience Knowledge and Experience of hospital billing Knowledge of purchasing and supply distribution proceduresPosition Details:
