Responsibilities of the Lead Pump Mechanic include, but are not limited to:

Receive, disassemble, inspect, repair, paint, package/prepare for shipment API centrifugal pumps as well as other related rotating equipment e. g. centrifugal pumps, gearboxes, and blowersAssist with training and developing Pump Mechanic personnel to ensure efficient use of manpower and compliance with customer requirementsMonitor progress of repairs and assign and guide shop personnel to complete those repairsInteract with customers in a positive way showing them how DXP cares about their businessAssist the Supervisor in the execution of all workAbility to read pump sectional and machine drawings. Read and comprehend OEM pump manualsDisassembly, inspection, ability to write up a detailed rotating equipment report to all necessary repairs and or replacement parts needed. Ex: assembly prep, assembly, pneumatic pressure testing of assembled equipment, painting of finished repair and final inspectionFabricate piping and tubing as neededSafely use hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools

Qualifications of the Lead Mechanic include, but are not limited to:

5 years of experience as mechanicAdvanced knowledge of diesel and fuel engine maintenance and repairAbility to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs independentlyAbility to operate equipment and tools involved in vehicle repairExperience with Pneumatic and Hydrostatic testing of parts and equipmentExperience with Mechanical seals includingAbility to read and understand mechanical seal drawings, mechanical seal removal, installation, and pneumatic pressure testing when necessary preferredAbility to properly use various types of precision measuring equipmentExperience or knowledge in NDT as in PMI, Dye Pen, and Mag Particle testingExperience and ability to use safely lifting devices such as cranes, forklifts, and rigging

Additional Information:

Physical Demand: Lift 50 lbs. unassisted / Lift 100 lbs. with assistance

Education: High School Diploma
