Lead Pump Mechanic

DXP Enterprises is seeking a skilled Pump Systems Specialist to join our team. As a Pump Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for receiving, disassembling, inspecting, repairing, painting, and preparing for shipment API centrifugal pumps and other related rotating equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, disassemble, inspect, repair, paint, and package/prepare for shipment API centrifugal pumps and other related rotating equipment.
- Assist with training and developing Pump Mechanic personnel to ensure efficient use of manpower and compliance with customer requirements.
- Monitor progress of repairs and assign and guide shop personnel to complete those repairs.
- Interact with customers in a positive way, showcasing DXP's commitment to their business.
- Assist the Supervisor in the execution of all work.
- Ability to read pump sectional and machine drawings, as well as OEM pump manuals.
- Disassemble, inspect, and write up detailed rotating equipment reports to identify necessary repairs and replacement parts.
- Fabricate piping and tubing as needed.
- Safely use hand, power, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience as a mechanic.
- Advanced knowledge of diesel and fuel engine maintenance and repair.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs independently.
- Ability to operate equipment and tools involved in vehicle repair.
- Experience with pneumatic and hydrostatic testing of parts and equipment.
- Experience with mechanical seals, including reading and understanding mechanical seal drawings, removal, installation, and pneumatic pressure testing.
- Ability to properly use various types of precision measuring equipment.
- Experience or knowledge in NDT, including PMI, Dye Pen, and Mag Particle testing.
- Experience and ability to use safely lifting devices such as cranes, forklifts, and rigging.

Physical Demand: Lift 50 lbs. unassisted / Lift 100 lbs. with assistance.
Working Conditions: Shop environment.
Training/Certifications: N/A.
Shift Time/Overtime: 8 am – 5 pm.
Travel: N/A.
Education: High School Diploma.
