Job Description

Imagine being part of a team that shapes the skyline and revolutionizes energy systems. As a member of Olsson's Transmission and Distribution (Power Delivery) team, you’ll contribute to the intricate network of poles and wires crisscrossing the skies. Our work involves more than just improving the visual landscape; we upgrade electrical systems to meet future energy demands.

At Olsson, you can design the robust, high-powered substations that are vital to our communities. From conception to completion, our skilled engineers and technicians bring these essential projects to life. Join us in designing impactful, sustainable solutions, and take pride in driving by a project, knowing you played a key role in its creation. Olsson is not just engineering a brighter future; we're creating a legacy of excellence in electrical engineering, committed to quality and client satisfaction.

Join our dynamic Power Delivery team as an Assistant Electrical Engineer in our Plano or Fort Worth offices. This entry-level position will strengthen your knowledge and experience through a variety of routine engineering assignments under direct supervision.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assist with project design elements using standard techniques and established methods. Perform entry-level plan production with clear instructions. Gain experience with design and modeling software. Receive guidance from senior staff on project schedules and technical calculations. Contribute to portions of broader projects under supervision. Gather and prepare research for technical reports. Mentor student interns by answering questions and offering guidance on routine assignments. Travel and work in various terrains and weather conditions at project sites in different stages of construction.

We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in either our Fayetteville, AR; Joplin, MO; Overland Park, KS; Lincoln, NE; or Omaha, NE office locations.

Qualifications

You are passionate about:

Working collaboratively with others. Having ownership in the work you do. Using your talents to positively affect communities.

You bring to the team:

Strong communication skills. Ability to contribute and work well with a team. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Engineering Intern certificate (EI) a plus.

Simply put, we work to leave the world better than we found it.

As an Olsson employee, you’ll receive our traditional benefits package (health care, vision, dental, paid time off, etc.), plus you’ll:

Become an owner in the company after your first year through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Engage in work that has a positive impact in communities. Receive an excellent 401(k) match. Participate in a wellness program promoting balanced lifestyles. Benefit from a bonus system that rewards performance. Have the possibility for flexible work arrangements.
