Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Hire, train, develop and hold accountable the detail technician team. Performs quality checks on vehicles to ensure that they have been fully cleaned and prepared for the customer to take possession after repairs and/or product installations have been completed. Strives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments. Manage all pay structure and plans under the guidance of the service manager. Ensures the proper use of eye, hand, and body protection amongst staff. Facilitates and performs all detailing department duties: Washes vehicles exterior, cleans interior and exterior windows, and wipes down doorjambs to ensure that they have been fully cleaned and prepared for the customer to take possession Vacuums interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris, wipes down interior and exterior of vehicle May be required to apply wax to auto body, and wipes or buffs surface Cleans upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices Cleans engine and engine compartment with steam-cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents Applies revitalizers and preservation agents to interior vinyl or leather surfaces and treats fabrics with spot and stain resistant chemicals Applies special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials, which normal cleaning products do not remove, utilizing experience and judgement to ensure manufacturers recommendations have been followed Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery, and poor mechanical operation Fills vehicle with fuel Applies dressing to tires and tire wells Maintains showroom and stock vehicles in clean and presentable condition at all times Ensures proper stickers are displayed in the vehicle’s windows Removes all window stickers for all leased and sold vehicles Hold detail technicians accountable to a consistent reconditioning process such as: Cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the vehicle. Front Line ready appearance of all vehicles. Scheduling for detail team for coverage of all inbound inventory reconditioning. Focus on prioritizing the inventory by age or direction of the General Sales Manager.
