The Senior Robotics Engineer's primary focus will be the design and implementation of robotic systems.  Senior robot engineers will have a solid commitment to their own and others’ safety; actively encouraging safety improvements in design, equipment, and behavior. Senior robot engineers will never let observed safety infractions go unaddressed.   Senior robot engineers will provide leadership and can supervise others.  Senior robot engineers will manage large projects successfully.  Senior robot engineers will have and continue to build working relationships company wide.   Senior robot engineers will be experts in all Woodgrain’s robot processes.  Senior robot engineers will be a resource to others helping where needed.  Senior engineers will collaborate with people from all areas developing and completing projects. This position will be based in Fruitland, Idaho, but will be able to work from the Meridian, Idaho office 1-2 days per week.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Develop detailed design drawings of robot systems.
  • Quote and purchase parts and supplies for control systems
  • Work with operations and others to install, test and verify the machine.  
  • Learn and adopt documentation procedures.
  • Ensure safety compliance throughout the process.  
  • Utilize effective communication throughout the process.  
  • Manage large robot projects
  • Direct others to complete controls projects
  • Provide leadership to the engineering department by taking ownership 
  • Supervise others 
  • Expert in the robot systems Woodgrain uses
  • Project responsibility level up to $10mm

 

Qualifications: 

  • Robotics  related formal education B.S. 
  • Excellent understanding of the Robotics systems applications Woodgrain uses
  • Have good working relationships companywide
  • Customer focus
  • Ability to adapt and learn in a fast paced changing environment.  
  • Able and willing to travel domestically to various locations and  facilities.
  • Working knowledge of MS office products.  
  • Working knowledge of networking and industrial communications.
  • Practice good cybersecurity hygene.


Prefered Qualifications: 

  • Experience in AutoCAD or other drawing applications.
  • Extensive experience withFanuc and ABB robots.
  • Extensive experience modeling and simulating robots.
  • Experience in wood products manufacturing.
