The Senior Project Engineer role supports the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets for large and complex Research and Development (R&D) and new product development projects. To accomplish this, the Senior Project Engineer coordinates and leads a cross-functional, cross-organizational, indirectly reporting, project team.

Working in a state-of-the-art additive manufacturing setting, this role identifies and addresses project problems, analyzes gathered data, and develops solutions and recommendations to solve problems, meet deadlines and optimize performance.

What You Will Do

Develops project plans, schedules, and budgets for complex, large-size additive manufacturing projects and suggests appropriate adjustments to ensure adherence to the established project plan, schedule, and budget Directs the work from inception (quotation) through completion (introduction into production) of indirectly reporting employees assigned to projects in technical design, testing and manufacturing areas as well as administrative areas Coordinates responsible projects with internal & external stakeholders to align and drive additive Research and Development (R&D) Technology Readiness Level (TRL) efforts Advises customers & stakeholders on scope and timeline while clarifying and establishing numerous product and process requirements Records and documents delay, changes in scope, and any other incidents that impact the scope of work or schedule to ensure smooth project operations Generates and maintains project schedules with understood dependencies, deliveries, and critical path Tracks progress, identifies and resolves obstacles to minimize disruption to project schedules to ensure smooth project operations while communicating status to internal and external stakeholders. Utilize Earned Value (EV) methods for managing project budget (and schedule) Ensures project & products meets quality expectations Identifies risks & opportunities while working to resolve them by recommending resolutions through proactive ownership Develops engineering estimates and proposals for potential large-size projects and for organizational buy-in Forecasts project revenues, monitors costs and re-estimates project costs monthly to maximize project profitability and ensure business targets are met Facilitates project tasks with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives Prepares well-crafted presentations reporting project status to leadership teams

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience  U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract ​

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
