MinimumQualificationsEDUCATION/ CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors degree preferred with at least 5 7 years of workexperience or equivalent zOSexperience.
  • REQUIREDSKILLS:
  • Mainframe zOS systems softwareprogramming experience and expertise
  • Experience working with hardware to include a basic understandingof FICON/ESCON connectivity DASD architecture alias (PAV)management cryptographic coprocessors data encryption techniquesand virtual (VTS) tape libraries.
  • zOSexperience with catalog management ISPF/SDSF z/FS Filesystems UnixSystem Services RACF JES parameters SYS1.PARMLIB SYS1.PROCLIBmembers.
  • zOS SYSPLEX management includingcouple dataset definition and couplingfacilities.
  • Dataset/Storage/Disk/Tapemanagement (allocation backup restore etc.) including DFDSS DFSMSstorage constructs DFHSM Mgmt/Cleanup DFRMM XCF System Loggeretc.
  • Ability to debug and resolve Mainframeoperating system software issues (across older to current z/OSlevels)
  • Work well in a teamenvironment
  • Ability to teach and assist usersand other team members
  • Availability to worksome weekend / offshift coverage and maintenancewindows
  • Deep knowledge of zOS and JES SystemProgramming

Roles& Responsibilities
  • Scope ofwork encompasses multiple components or a complex component of asoftware product or solution. Solves complex software engineeringproblems within the company.
  • Uses judgmentwithin defined policies and practices.
  • Ensuresdesign and code development incorporates latest technologies andmaximizes resources.
  • Makes decisions andrecommendations on priorities design changes improvements andproblem resolution.
  • Defines recommends andimplements software alternatives and solutions which will achieve ahigh level of efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Advises other professionals on complexsoftware product issues related to own discipline.
  • Leads professional teams and significantproject planning activities ensuring that development is completedin a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Accountable for completion of team ordepartmental results and activities and or projects involving multifunctional teams on or ahead of schedule while achieving orimproving cost and quality objectives.
  • Decisions have a direct and significant effecton project/team objectives and directly impact customersatisfaction cost quality and expense Provides ongoing technicalguidance and leadership for software development projects withinthe team or functional area.
  • Thoroughlyunderstands and effectively executes existing software developmentprocesses and procedures and develops new approaches asappropriate.
  • Actively participates in definingand deciding upon objectives which support the changing businessneeds.
  • Contributes to development oforganizational goals.
  • Failure to accomplishwould normally have serious results and substantial additional lresources to correct.
  • Ensures accurate andthorough documentation is maintained for the project.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities asassigned.
