What is the position


The Coordination of Benefits Agent is responsible for following defined processes to research and resolve Medicare case requests. The Coordination of Benefits Agent plays a crucial role in minimizing claim errors, maximizing cost savings, and providing exceptional customer service.
 
What will I get to do?

Key Responsibilities include:

Use defined processes to review and analyze insurance policies and claims to determine proper primary and secondary coverage for policyholders with multiple insurance plans. Collaborate with supervisor and internal teams, such as claims processing and customer service representatives to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to coordination of benefits process. Provide outreach and support to policyholders regarding their benefits, coverage, and claims process. Document accurate and detailed records of coordination of benefits activities, including case status, payments, and communications. Ensure adherence to all HIPAA privacy and confidentiality regulations when handling sensitive policyholder information.

 
What qualifications do I need? 

High School Diploma Must be a US Citizen or Authorized to work in the US (if not a citizen) and a resident of the US for at least 3 years within the last 5 years.

 
What additional characteristics will help me thrive?

6 months of relevant experience analyzing casework and following defined processes, preferred. Experience in healthcare insurance, claims processing, or Medicare coordination of benefits. Strong knowledge of insurance policies, benefits, and Medicare guidelines. Familiarity with medical terminology and coding systems. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to accurately determine primary and secondary coverage. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex and sensitive information. Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills. Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on providing exceptional support and assistance to policyholders. Ability to work in a fast-paced program environment. Excellent attention to details and strong multi-tasking abilities. Ability to learn quickly. Strong ability to work as a team and individually. Experience working on CMS programs.
