Responsibilities

Team with others to fabricate, assemble, form, finish and inspect a wide variety of structural andnon-structural fiberglass, acrylic and other composite and metal parts, tools and assemblies. Work from drawings, documents, process specifications, quality control requirements, andestablished processes and procedures, to assure the timely delivery of quality products to the customer. Perform multi-tasking and multi-machine operation where applicable.

Duties

The Company will provide appropriate assistance in job training to enable employees to performall necessary job functions including the following:

Utilize lay-up tools, which include both optical and hard tools, in the fabrication of compositeand metal assemblies. Obtain required information from prints, charts, sketches, work orders, documents, verbaland electronic information. Use shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments to complete work assignments. Must verify work performed is per work instruction and meets process and/or engineering specification.Ensure equipment and tool certification occurs per procedure. Use and control of solvents and cleaning solutions in the preparation of details, tools, andassemblies for bonding and paint per established procedures. Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of their daily work duties style="user-select: text; -webkit-user-drag: none; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; font-variant-ligatures: none important;" data-contrast="auto"> replacing machine filters, changing standard light bulbs on machines and equipment,maintaining lubrication/coolant levels, etc. as related to basic Total PreventativeMaintenance duties). Routinely move product within the immediate manufacturing work area, including acrossisle, using shop assigned equipment as required, and complete transactions necessary tomove product to the next operation. On an exception basis, moves product to the nextoperation within a building. Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training andassisting employees at all classification levels. Cross trains in inspection and becomes SIA qualified.

Qualifying Skills

Advancement to any given level is subject to need, as determined by management, andemployee meeting established qualification criteria.

Level A

General Statement – Repair Mechanic

Perform repairs in a FAA approved Repair Station, working to structural repair manuals,component maintenance manuals and aircraft maintenance manuals, as well as other approvedrepair instructions from the manufacturer or airline customer. Team with others to performmaintenance, repair and overhauls to a wide variety of structural and non-structural fiberglass,acrylic and other composite and metal parts. Work from approved repair manuals anddocuments, process specifications, quality control requirements, drawings and establishedprocesses and procedures, to assure the timely delivery of quality products to the customer. Perform multi-tasking and multi-machine operation where applicable.

Employee is able to perform the critical functions of the Composites Mechanic such as:

Demonstrates technical expertise in fabricating assemblies, reworks and repairs nonmetallicparts, assemblies and aircraft applying knowledge of working characteristics of nonmetallicmaterials and bonding techniques. Performs rework/repair in keeping with the Engineering intent through use of electronicmedia (work instructions, model-based definitions, specifications, requirements documents,MRB dispositions, etc.). Verifies dimensions of parts using both mechanical and electronic precision measurementtools. May perform first article inspection. Able to capture, translate, validate or provide measurement data to meet engineering intentand top-level requirements including the following:a. Maintain required personal certifications.b. Perform complete inspection, including first part review, of procured or fabricated parts and assembliesc. Initiate and document any non-conforming condition for Material Review Board action.d. Perform process surveillance to assure compliance with requirements.e. Prepare and maintain quality records. Proficient in the use and interpretation of all cad cam tools or similar tools to support thefabrication, manufacture or rework to engineering configuration Coordinate with Engineering and other disciplines in the determination and development ofmaterials, processes, specifications, and related documents to be used in the fabrication,rework, repair or change incorporation of nonmetallic parts, tools, assemblies andequipment. Structural Composite Repair Certified. (TR009348) Willingness to travel, domestically and internationally, on short notice, for long periods oftime, to support Airline Operator maintenance requirements. Must comply with Anti-Drug and Alcohol program requirements (FAA required randomtesting for safety sensitive work).a. Employee must successfully pass initial screening to begin work in the repair station.
Qualifications

Requirements:

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance. All applicants must be willing and able to work any shift, including alternative work weeks. Majority of new hires will be hired on 2nd shift. All Candidates must pass the WorkKeys Assessment (com) or provide verification that they have passed the WorkKeys Assessment. Delay in completing your WorkKeys Assessment will result in a delay in your start date. You may complete your assessment in advance of an interview.
