About the Role

Spirit AeroSystems is seeking a skilled Defense Process Mechanic I5 to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing process, you will be responsible for the set-up, support, and production of high-quality aerostructures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality aerostructures.
  • Support the production process by performing tasks such as planning, checking, and establishing a sequence of work to fabricate, assemble, and inspect hardware.
  • Perform multi-tasking and multi-machine operation to prioritize, complete, and process work assignments.
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment to perform self-inspection of in-process and finished work.
  • Maintain certifications, qualifications, licenses, or permits as required to perform work.
  • Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of daily work duties.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, technique sheets, work orders, and other documentation required to complete operations per engineering.
  • Perform inspection and verification of dimensions of parts using mechanical and electronic precision measurement tools.
  • Initiate and document any non-conforming conditions.
  • Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training and assisting employees of the same or lower classification level.
Requirements
  • Candidates must be able to maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Active DoD security clearance, or be willing to obtain one, and ability to obtain program access.
  • All applicants must be willing and able to work any shift.
  • All candidates must pass the WorkKeys Assessment or provide verification that they have passed the WorkKeys Assessment.
