Overview

This position is temporary through January 30, 2025.

The Volunteer Coordinator will work with area organizations to recruit, train and manage area volunteers and connect them to participants within the Advocates community. They will coordinate daily activities and volunteer project events.

Responsibilities

Liaison with other agencies and organizations to identify potential volunteers in the community Comfort level with social media platforms to recruit potential volunteers. Liaison with health care plans and other partners to identify individuals who would benefit from the interaction with a volunteer. Train the volunteers and ensure that they have obtained the appropriate background checks. Attend trainings, supervision and staff meetings as assigned. Ensure that individuals we support are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates’ Human Rights Policy Perform all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures. Adhere to all principles related to the Advocates Way.

Qualifications

BS/BA in related field with 4 years of experience. Ability to flex time to work nights and weekends. Strongly prefer a candidate that will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations. Ability to flex time to work nights and weekends. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. High energy level, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere. Must hold a valid drivers’ license. Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle .
