Would you like to teach in a setting where you can improve students' learning, promote their resilience and confidence, and make a genuine difference? Ignite Achievement Academy is a private, accredited school serving students in grades K-12 with special needs and learning differences.

As a classroom teacher, you will deliver instruction to each child in the classroom in alignment with their instructional plan. Each classroom consists of approximately six students who receive a mixture of whole-group instruction and small-group instruction based on their unique learning needs. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with your peers as well as with the student's family. 

Our teachers rarely need to take work home, and our culture is different than any other school you've likely worked with in the past


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree;
  • Elementary, Secondary, Special Education, and/or Early Childhood Teacher certification;
  • Classroom teaching experience;
  • Possess a passionate belief that all students are capable of success and learn in unique ways;
  • Possess the desire to work 1-on-1 and in small groups with students to ensure instruction is appropriate for their individualized needs;
  • Possess the ability to build rapport with both the student and the parent in a collaborative environment;
  • Possess a deep understanding of the challenges facing students with special needs;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook);
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to establish a strong and supportive relationship with each assigned student;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team;
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Special Education Certification
  • Self-contained special education classroom experience
