POSITION TITLE: MENTOR SUPERVISOR

 

REPORTS TO: ASSISTANT PROGRAMMANAGER

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Mentor Supervisoris the main point of contact for our Mentors and participants in the field on adaily basis. Working in shifts, these individuals engage our Mentors 24/7 tostrengthen the support of our participants at the highest level. This individualwill act as an ambassador to L4L in all interactions.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

a.  Reports to MentorCoordinator concerning updates with clients

b.  Reports toProgram Manager with concerns and feedback on mentors, fellow supervisors,troubleshooting after pop-ups or site visits, or needing support as asupervisor.

c.  Communicates withall mentors regarding day-to-day support

d.  Communicate liveupdates in the Messaging App to ensure the team is informed

e.  Is the key pointof contact for emergency and non-emergency calls

f.  Liaison to hotelsfor client placements

g.  Is responsiblefor delivering program guidelines and fostering a good working environment byleveraging the program rules to ensure the safety of all participants

h.  Will Onboard newmentors and participants

i.  Will provideweekly check-ins for systems and processes I.e., shift notes, etc.

j.  Coach, teach andtrain all new mentors during new hire onboarding and veteran mentors as needed

k.  May be asked toparticipate on Interview panel for prospective new mentors

l.  24/7 on-callsupport for participants, crisis intervention, real-time, and management

m.  Provides grocerylist approval and takes participants grocery shopping

n.  Provide paymentfor laundry

o.  Attendorganization training, meetings, and other mandates as requested 

p.  Other duties asassigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS. 

•  Educationin human services, social work, business, education, or related field, or othercombinations of relevant education and experience may be considered with aminimum of at least three (3) years of combined education and experience as amentor.

•  Musthave a current state-issued driver's license

•  Musthave current auto insurance on their vehicle that meets the MD state minimumrequirements

• Experience personally and professionally with youth who have hadengagement in the criminal and child welfare systems.

•  Experienceleading, developing, and supporting a high-performing, results-oriented team.

•  Demonstratedskills in strategic and operational planning, finance, capacity-building, andperformance management.

•  Possess creativityand a growth mindset.

 

Must have strongtechnology skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, fax machines,photocopiers, and other standard office equipment. Must have experience withguidelines to satisfy HIPAA compliance. Excellent problem-solving skills withdemonstrated ability to investigate and identify system issues and problems.Ability to effectively leverage internal and external resources; and workcollaboratively with a team.

            

1.  GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

At times there may besedentary work. May be required to periodically lift up to 51lbs, moving invarious positions.  Sedentary workinvolves sitting most of the time.  Jobsare sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and allother sedentary criteria are met.

 

2.  PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

A.  Reaching:  Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in anydirection.

B.  Fingering:  Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwiseworking, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as inhandling.

3.  VISUAL ACUITY

The worker is requiredto have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as:

driving a motorvehicle, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing acomputer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving smalldefects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); usingmeasurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances closeto the eyes.

 

4.  WORKING CONDITIONS

The worker is notsubstantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typicaloffice or administrative work).
