REPORTS TO: Director Plant Operations
SUPERVISES: N/A
JOB FUNCTION: Maintain, repair and adjust a variety of grounds maintenance equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain, repair and adjust a variety of grounds maintenance equipment; perform minor/major repairs on a variety of equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and tune-ups to equipment; replace parts as needed. Perform maintenance, repair and adjustments to mechanical and electrical attachments to grounds equipment; troubleshoot, identify and repair electrical malfunctions of grounds equipment and attachments. Requisition parts and supplies and maintain inventory. Assist grounds maintenance personnel with a variety of grounds maintenance duties. Operate a variety of grounds/grounds maintenance tools and equipment. Maintain routine records related to equipment maintenance and repair activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain regular attendance. Assist in snow and ice removal as needed. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the repair of grounds maintenance equipment. Operation, maintenance and repair of a variety of grounds maintenance equipment. Proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies. Health and safety regulations. Basic record-keeping techniques. Proper lifting techniques ABILITY TO: Maintain, repair and adjust a variety of grounds maintenance equipment. Perform general grounds maintenance duties. Operate grounds hand and power tools and other equipment used in grounds maintenance. Lift heavy objects. Understand and follow oral and written directions. Work cooperatively with others. Maintain routine records. Observe legal and defensive driving practices. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking. Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching. Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, one third of your body weight, not to exceed pounds Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or Certificate Two years experience in maintenance and repair of grounds equipment preferred.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
