The Information Systems (IS) Network Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and support of LSSI’s network infrastructure. This involves working with business stakeholders and ensuring the right solutions are in place to effectively and efficiently automate processes and eliminate waste. This role will work closely with Project Managers, the Infrastructure Team, the Applications Team, and the Support Team to ensure the right solutions and tools are in place to ensure a secure and reliable network is in place. The Network Engineer will work with other Engineers and the Lead to ensure projects are implemented and maintained in alignment with LSSI’s strategy. The paid training you need to learn, grow, and succeed Essential Functions: Work closely with the team and Infrastructure Lead to: prioritize projects and tasks as well as successfully complete and deliver projects. communicate end-of-life and support issues. resolve and/or escalate issues as needed. Work with Project Managers to ensure end-users training material is update. Manage vendor relationships and ensure adequate support exist on products. Ensure vendor delivers as promised. Ensure devices and network tools are up to date, maintained and supported. Provide input into the IS budget process for capital and operating expenses; ensure projects are within budget parameters. Identify Key Performance Indicators for the solutions put in place. Support and maintain the backup environment to ensure Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) are met. Ensure Disaster recovery Plan is supported by the right tools and processes. Support and maintenance of the phone system to ensure communications needs for the organization are met. Support and maintain: the physical and virtual server environment as well as the wired and wireless environment (wireless access points, network switches, routers and firewalls). the endpoint devices (laptops, desktops, phones, smart devices). the various security solutions to help continuously elevate the security posture. Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner. Position Qualifications : High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred. Cisco Certified Engineer/Professional certification or equivalent experience in Cisco or other vendor technologies preferred. Office 365 certified or equivalent experience implementing and administering Azure AD and 365 solutions preferred. Windows Server related certifications and security related certifications preferred. Background check clearance required. Eight (8) to ten (10) years’ experience in IT preferred. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in infrastructure management (servers, backup, endpoint devices, security solutions) required. Two (2) to five (5) years’ experience with: Windows Server operating systems as it relates to builds, upgrade and patching. backup technologies to support on-prem and remote backups to support recovery and disaster recovery efforts. phone systems to support the unified communication needs of the organization preferred. administering Office 365 environment with a Hybrid Azure AD environment preferred. administering Teams 365 environment preferred. administering and working in a VMWare environment preferred. Ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, verbally and in writing. Excellent organization, presentation and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software. Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required. Access to reliable transportation required. Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required.
