Job Description
A consulting company in the Princeton area is looking to fill a posituion for an Accounting Clerk on a partime basis for 3 days per week.
Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team
As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for accounting for client projects accurately and in a timely manner
The ideal candidate will have experience with CRM software, such as Salesforce, and possess strong analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of financial transactions
- Generate sales invoices for the North American operations ensuring that all required information is included
- Become familiar with specific requirements indicated in the Purchase Order or Client agreements to ensure invoicing and revenue recognition is accurate
- Assist in the preparation of various weekly, monthly and annual reports for Management and the auditors
- Conduct reconciliations of revenue accounts in the CRM and general ledger and resolve any discrepancies
- Support the accounting team in month-end and year-end closing processes
- Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed
Qualifications:
- Associates' degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or similar role
- Proficient in using CRM software, such as Salesforce
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, including revenue recognition and reconciliation of prebilled and unbilled balances
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of GAAP revenue recognition rules is a plus
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work independently
