We're seeking a native speaker of US English with extensive military service experience to join our team as a military terminology specialist. The ideal candidate is a recent veteran or someone currently serving in the military, with a deep understanding of military terminology and operations, particularly within the NATO framework. The role involves reviewing military terminology and defining key terms specific to the Ukrainian context.
Key responsibilities
- Terminology review: Critically review military terminology, ensuring accuracy and relevance for the NATO context.
- Term definition: Define key military terms tailored to the Ukrainian context, considering linguistic and operational nuances.
- Language barrier navigation: Utilize experience in overcoming language barriers in military settings to ensure clear and effective communication.
Qualifications
- Native speaker of US English.
- Extensive history of military service, with experience in various roles.
- Strong familiarity with military terminology, particularly NATO terms.
- Experience overcoming language barriers in a military context.
- Knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian is a bonus but not required.
Compensation and Duration
- Pay rate $27.00 per hour
- Duration 15- to 20 hours over one to two weeks for an initial pilot, with the possibility of extension.
- Start date: ASAP
