Position Summary

: The Shop Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy industrial equipment and vehicles.

Key Roles / Responsibilities : 

Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots equipment including testing and diagnostics. Monitors, evaluates, and adjusts processes or equipment to maximize quality and efficiency. Diagnoses simple and complex mechanical problems. Assists other mechanics with performing repairs and maintenance as needed. Understands knowledge of oil field and engine equipment. Performs tasks efficiently and effectively. Completes service jobs as required in a timely manner. Effectively communicates with co-workers, and management. Follows all company policies and procedures. Attends training classes as required. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager. Overtime will be required based on company demand.

Minimum Qualifications:

2+ years’ experience with similar industrial equipment strongly preferred. 2-5 years prior field service experience preferred. Must be capable of performing complex repairs correctly and safely in a shop environment and in the field. Must own a basic set of hand tools. Must have a valid driver license or commercial driver license. Able to travel overnight between facilities as necessary. High school diploma or equivalent. Proficient in the English language.

Working Conditions :

Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting stand, walk, kneel, stoop, squat, pull, push, climb, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and see and standing (occasionally) for long periods of time. The essential duties of this position require moderate to heavy lifting and carrying. Prolonged periods of sitting on a forklift or other warehouse equipment. Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations, and bright lights; and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases; and all climate types including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, etc. Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, breathing protection, and hard hats when needed. Able to work under stressful conditions at times. React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet. Must be able to move and lift to 40-pound wooden skid or pallet. Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections. Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions. Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions. Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed. Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
