Role accountabilities:
This is an entry level Distribution Energy System Engineer position within the Power Delivery unit of Arcadis. The position assists in the coordination of the power delivery distribution engineering team and performs hands on engineering, detail design and studies for utility clients in North America. The candidate will also work closely with Sr. and/or Lead distribution engineer within the Power Delivery group.
As the successful candidate, you will:
Support developing and delivering distribution engineering and design packages in Solar, EV, and other renewable energy projects with quality, schedule, and safe design in mind. Perform electrical design and coordination of various projects, involving EV electrification with an emphasis on utility coordination and charging infrastructure design, power plans, fire alarms, lighting design as well as the analysis of existing systems. Conduct solar photovoltaic studies using software to optimize energy generation at proposed sites. Work with discipline leads to design distributed energy resources (DER) generation, transmission and storage for renewable and alternative energy projects Perform design calculations, develop one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans and specifications Assist with cost estimating, code review, field investigation, report and memo writing and other similar electrical engineering related tasks Maintain close coordination with and help other relevant Arcadis Business Units and Practices for cross selling and cross staffing opportunities.We are seeking an individual with a strong team player mindset and excellent communication skills to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate effectively with colleagues. Additionally, this position may involve travel of up to 25% to client sites and customer meetings, both within North America and potentially internationally.

A Bachelors degree in Electrical EngineeringPreferred Qualifications
0-1 year of Distribution engineering and design experience; US Power electric utility is a plus Basic understanding of Distribution Power design Proficient in AutoCAD or MicroStation Knowledge of applicable industry standards including the National Electric Code (NEC), National Electric Safety Code (NESC), and IEEE.
