Dixon is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our dynamic machining team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As a Production Manager you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of machining processes, maintaining product quality, and upholding safety standards. You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, coordinating workload, and managing a team of skilled machinists. Your leadership will drive improvements in productivity and efficiency while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with production planning, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to ensure that production targets are met, and any issues are swiftly resolved. Strong interpersonal skills will be essential for coaching and mentoring team members, enhancing their skills and fostering a motivated work environment. The candidate should possess a solid understanding of machining techniques, tools, and technology, along with experience in a supervisory role. Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise daily machining operations to ensure efficiency and productivity while maintaining accountability Lead, train, and develop a team of machinists, promoting a positive work environment Monitor production schedules and adjust workloads to meet deadlines and targets Ensure adherence to safety practices and protocols in the machining area Analyze machining processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives Conduct regular performance evaluations for team members and provide constructive feedback Collaborate with quality assurance to assess and maintain product quality standards Work with team to coordinate and implement improvement activities Implement and verify corrective actions Gather and summarize performance data Promote, follow, and help establish standard work Lead by exampleCompetencies:
Proven experience in a machining environment with a focus on CNC lathes and/or milling experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role. Strong understanding of machining processes, tools, and equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Skilled in problem-solving, conflict resolution and decision-making under pressure. Knowledge of safety standards and regulations within a manufacturing setting. Familiarity with ISO and lean manufacturing principles. Strong computer skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize work Good time management and organization skills Great communicator, team builder, and coach Knowledge of manufacturing and machining processesThe Dixon Group is an equal opportunity employer.
