Job Description

As a Financial Reporting Analyst with OMES you will enjoy:

Job Details

Support the Central Accounting and Reporting teamSalary up to: $68,600 based on education and experience.While the standard workweek is 40 hours, there may be occasions where business needs require additional time commitment. Overtime will be required in order to meet financial reporting deadlines.

Responsibilities

Contributes to the preparation of the State’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.Communicates with agencies to obtain financial informationInstructs and assists agencies with the completion of GAAP conversion packages.Revises and updates state agency conversion packages annually, as needed.Contributes to the review and analysis of the State's accounting policies and procedure and makes recommendations for appropriate changes.Serves as a liaison to State Auditor & Inspector agency personnelReview, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports submitted by agencies to ensure complianceAd hoc projects, analyses, and reporting as assigned

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

Preference will be given to candidates who possess

CPA certificationCPA candidateGovernmental accounting experience, understanding of governmental accounting standards board (GASB), and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for governmentsExperience working with general ledger and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
